Attracting Recruiting Developing Retaining
Twenty years of experience in planning and implementing advertising programs, recruiting programs, professional development programs, training programs, and retention programs. I have been a successful regional manager for two Army recruiting companies, the Director of Recruitment for ITT-Tech, and a public affairs specialist for the Army Recruiting Command. I have a proven record of consistently leading employees in meeting recruitment goals. Developed and implemented successful communication strategies, utilizing an array of social media and sales tactics. Effective communication skills; facilitating grievance resolutions, contract negotiations, team building, motivating team members, and excel at briefing senior leaders. I have a graduate degree in human resources development, with an emphasis in recruiting management, plus twenty-one graduate hours in marketing. Currently, a Gonzaga University student studying communication and leadership, go Zags!

Public Affairs Specialist
Responsible for recruiting marketing programs to achieve monthly recruiting goals. Developed social media recruiting strategies on Facebook, Army Strong Stories (blog), Twitter, and Google Blog. I am the project officer for several communication programs to connect with local communities; Scholar Athlete Programs, TAIR Program (total Army in recruiting), Army Reserve recruiting programs, SkillsUSA, NASCAR, NHRA, NAACP, Warped Tour concerts, Kiwanis speaking engagements, 100 Black Men of America, Boy and Girl Scout programs, the Army Birthday Celebration, ToughMudder competition, Top Performer program, and the Kansas City Auto Show. I covered an NAACP event in 2010, which resulted in my story being published in the Recruiting Journal. Coordinated events for college and career fairs, local radio high school football games, TV stations airing the Army Star School program, and working with local TV stations to interview Army rocker Sgt. Campbell. Some interesting events include oath of enlistment ceremonies on the ice at the Missouri Mavericks hockey games, on the baseball field for a Royals game, on the baseball field for the Kansas City T-Bones, and on the soccer field for a Sporting Kansas City game. All recruiting efforts are based on market research and budgeting. Last but not least, I earned the employee of the year award for 2011.

Responsible for managing sixteen educational recruiters and one community relations specialist. As the DOR, I planned, lead, organized, and controlled recruiting activities in the Kansas City area. Such as career fairs, college fairs, community organizations, high school prospecting, and targeting military installations. Lead recruitment team to achieve quarterly goals with purpose, motivation, and direction. I directed and advised the community relations specialist to generate relationships with the high school markets, military markets, and adult learner markets. Specifically developed a military recruitment plan targeting local reserve and guard. During my tenure, our team developed an in-house bachelor’s degree program, for returning students and past two year grads-generating 11 new starts. Leadership strategies resulted achieving a school record, for the most students recruited in a semester.
De Vry University

Responsible for marketing and recruiting students to meet start goals. Developed a brand awareness strategy targeting local organizations to create interest in De Vry degrees. Appointed by management to lead a military recruiting campaign, targeting Reserve and Guard forces, in Kansas and Missouri. This campaign created new business for the school and resulted in De Vry's standard operating procedures for military recruitment. Took initiative an organized a high school marketing plan, adopted by management for all advisors in the department. Coordinated recruiting events with military units, college fairs, career fairs, high schools, and local organizations. Recognized my leadership as the top admissions advisor for the school.

Regional Recruiting Manager
Managed 8 recruiting stations, in Easter Washington and Western Idaho, with 33 recruiters covering 200,000 sq miles; involving 98 high schools, 10 colleges (including Gonzaga), and numerous civilian organizations. Planned, organized, controlled, and lead company recruiting prospecting strategies- tactics include phone messaging, face-to-face prospecting, and community relations. I had the responsibility for the professional development of 33 recruiters; in marketing, salesmanship, and public relations. Accountable for database systems, evaluations, training management, and family support. Managed a delayed entry pool of 500 new recruits with a 92% retention rate. As the manager, I supervised recruiting programs involving food and coat drives, Army game tournaments, car shows, college football games, local recreation events, career fairs, Army Reserve relations, local partnerships with civilian organizations, and the success of each station. The results-increased volume production for three years.
